Sonny Lipps is an artist living and working in Los Angeles. He received his BA from California State University Northridge in Earth Science. Originally experimenting with textured fresco painting and crude collages in the early 1990's (most of which are lost or destroyed), Mr. Lipps developed his own style in the mid-90's after working with Seattle based muralist, Keith Leaman and studying drawing at Watkins Institute in Nashville. After a flurry of production lasting until 2002, he went into a 12 year hiatus to focus on his family and re-model their Craftsman bungalow in Los Angeles. In 2014 he had a solo show at Nucleus Gallery. Mr. Lipps has also recently shown at Irvine Fine Arts Center, CA 101, Angel City Brewery, The Slow Down Gallery, and Rock Rose Gallery. His work is in private collections nationally. |
