Artist Statement

In my current work in abstraction I seek the elegance of simplicity, the richness of experience, the depth of feelings and the allure of uncompromising esthetics.

What excites me is the creative interaction among the elements of each painting - like a couple who has lived together for a long time and whose connection, though unspoken, is real and palpable.

I am in constant search of my truest expression. Each painting takes me to roads traveled as well as worlds unknown and provides challenges for growth and humility.

To me art is the equivalent of freeing my imagination from its formal bonds to pursue errands of truth. I use it to express - in the words of Wallace Stevens - "a dissociated abundance of being".
