I was born in Winslow Arizona. My father was also born in Arizona and attended high school in Jerome, where his father worked as a miner. I have a BFA from NAU and MFA from U of A. I’ve been a publication designer, illustrator and fine artist since attending graduate school on the GI Bill and I’m a former Arizona Highways Magazine Art Director. My fine art it is represented in private and corporate collections across the country. Children’s book illustration has been an important part of my creative output in recent years and I have illustrated six books, three of them written by my wife Madeline. Recently I was commissioned for a painting by the Department of the Interior. The painting was of the Agua Fria National Monument for it’s Tenth Anniversary poster. The Agua Fria National Monument currently sells limited edition prints of the painting and poster. I also teach computer graphics at Paradise Valley Community College and have also taught graphic design at Northern Arizona University.
