Barbara Hill was born and raised in Arizona. She attended Phoenix College and ASU.
Barbara studied Photography under Allan Dutton at Phoenix Collage and Jack Stuller at ASU. She specialized in black and white roll film and had her own Studio for many years taking nature images and spontaneous photos of children in nature.
Barbara had a great influence in Watercolor from her Mother Lucille Furthmiller who entered many shows and was awarded many ribbons for her wonderful watercolor paintings. Another influence was Ina May Moore who taught at Paradise Community College and is in the who?s who of Watercolor.
When Barbara retired from her work over 10 years ago she took up watercolor full time and has taken many classes and workshops over the years.
Barbara paints all types of watercolor. She loves nature, birds and abstract. She loves to experiment with Yupo paper and see how the colors mix and what wonderful images can be achieved.
She believes water color is not judged by technique, subject or composition but all aspects come into play when determining whether a painting is successful or not.
