Robin Woodworth, a graduate of the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, knew she wanted to be an artist from early childhood but got sidetracked along the way as many do. Retired from her career in Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties in California. First, in business as owner of high-end women's clothing stores. Second, in Art Auction as Regional Representative for Butterfield and Butterfield (now Bonham's) and, later for Sotheby's. Third, in Non-Profit, as Executive Director and Director of Development (Museum of Ventura County and Ventura County Agriculture Museum). And as a Management Consultant to various non-profits. Robin is currently serving on the Board of Trustees of the Desert Botanical Garden and is a member of their Art Advisory Committee. The Garden is a constant source of inspiration for her painting. She relishes her retirement now that she can devote more time to painting, finally fulfilling her childhood dream. Robin's interest in watercolor as her main medium of expression was inspired by her move to the Arizona Desert. The subtlety and yet intensity of its color and mood is mesmerizing, she says. |
